Charlotte Edmonds joined the Royal Ballet Young Choreographer Programme for the 2015/16 Season as its inaugural member and continues on the Programme in the 2016/17 Season. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and as a student performed with The Royal Ballet. She made her Royal Ballet choreographic debut in 2014 with the film The Indifferent Beak for Deloitte Ignite 14. Subsequent works have included Meta (Royal Ballet), Forgotten Frontline (Royal Ballet Draft Works), Partnership and Access (Chance to Dance) and Candere (Royal Ballet School Annual Summer Performance, 2016).

At The Royal Ballet School Edmonds was a finalist in the Ninette de Valois Junior Choreographic Competition for three consecutive years and won the Kenneth MacMillan Senior Choreographic Competition in 2011 and 2012. She went on to study at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and completed a two-year foundation degree there in 2015.

Edmonds’s work for other companies includes No Strings Attached (as Causeway Young Artist in Residence) and Self for Yorke Dance Project, Fuse for the Dutch National Ballet Junior Company, Pelican for English National Ballet Emerging Dancer and a work for the Selfridges EveryBODY campaign, Studio Wayne McGregor. Other companies for which she has choreographed include Northern Ballet and Opera Holland Park. She was the Commissioned Choreographer for the 2015 Genée International Ballet Competition and participated in DanceEast’s Young Rural Retreat 2016. Edmonds was included in the Evening Standard’s 2015 ‘Progress 1000’ list of influential Londoners.
